All the excitement about Pluto recently inspired me to try something space-related on my nails. Galaxy designs are fun and I've done a couple of them, but I wanted to do something new this time. After some brainstorming (and perusing lots of NASA's new high-res pictures of Pluto), I decided: what about trying to recreate the surface of a planet on my nails?

Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright Nail Art
As I've let slip on this blog a few times, I'm actually pretty geeky in my everyday life. I love comic books, board games, video games, and... well, really just a whole lot of geeky things. These loves don't find their way into my nail art too terribly often for a variety of reasons, but today is an exception: this manicure honors something I anticipated for years and have been happily immersed in for the last few weeks.

Cyberpunky Holo Stamping
I have a confession to make: I think I'm addicted to holo gradients. I don't know what it is... I've been kind of unenthused about holo polishes in general lately—they're pretty, yes, but they're everywhere, so they just don't excite me too much anymore. But take two or more and sponge them together into a gradient? Oh man, I am so on board for that every single time!
